Print & Prep Guide

Pro tips for printing crisp game materials and scorecards from any device.

Recommended Paper Stock

Standard 20 lb copy paper works fine for single-use scorecards, but 65 lb – 110 lb white cardstock gives a professional game-store feel.

Printer Scaling & Settings

Set your printer scaling to '100%' or 'Fit to Printable Area'. Our PDFs use standard 0.5-inch safety margins for home and office printers.

Clean Cutting & Trimming

For card decks and prompts, a simple sliding paper trimmer gives razor-sharp edges in seconds. Standard household scissors work great too.

Dry-Erase & Reusable Prep

Slip sheets into clear sheet protectors or run them through a thermal laminator to use dry-erase markers party after party.

Recommended Print Prep Checklist
  • Standard Letter paper (8.5 × 11 in) or 65 lb cardstock
  • Home, office, or local print shop printer (Color or B&W)
  • Scissors or rotary paper trimmer for card cutouts
  • Pencils, pens, or dry-erase markers for game guests

What Is the Farkle & Pig Dice Championship Kit?

The Farkle & Pig Dice Championship Kit is an all-in-one party printable package designed to turn a standard bag of six-sided dice into an electrifying, high-stakes tournament night. Designed for 2 to 12+ players of ages 8 and up, this kit accommodates both casual family game nights and organized bracket-style social parties. Gameplay ranges from 15 to 45 minutes per heat, combining push-your-luck tension, mathematical risk-reward calculation, and boisterous table cheers.

Printing & Materials Guide

For an optimal playing experience, follow these production guidelines:

  • Paper Stock: Print scorecards on standard 8.5" × 11" white cardstock (65 lb to 80 lb) or 28 lb bright white paper to prevent pen bleed-through during active tallying.
  • Lamination Option: Laminate the Quick-Scoring Reference Matrix sheets so they serve as permanent table mats reusable with dry-erase markers.
  • Cutting & Layout: The Pig scorecards print 2-up per page; use a paper guillotine trimmer along the dotted center crop mark.
  • Equipment Needed: 6 standard six-sided dice per active Farkle table (or 2 dice for Pig tables), rolling trays or felt-lined dice cups to quiet the clatter, and pens or pencils for each player.

Host Opening Script

💡 Host Takeaway & Quick Tip"Welcome, rollers and risk-takers, to tonight's Ultimate Dice Championship! Sitting before you are six unassuming dice, but do not be fooled: tonight will test your nerve, your greed, and your timing. In Farkle, you can rack up thousands of points on a heater or lose it all with one careless roll. In Pig, a single roll of a one will snatch away your lead in an instant. Bank your points wisely, chase the Hot Dice when courage strikes, and whatever you do—don't Farkle on the threshold. Dice up, let’s roll!"

Step-by-Step Gameplay & Round Guide

  1. Setup & Seating: Seat 4 to 6 players per table. Distribute one Farkle Multi-Round Ledger per table and place one Quick-Scoring Reference Matrix in the center within view of all players. Each player rolls one die to determine play order (highest roll goes first).
  2. Opening Board Entry (Farkle): On their turn, a player rolls all 6 dice. To get on the board for the first time, a player must score at least 500 points in a single turn before choosing to bank. After qualifying, players may bank any point value on future turns.
  3. Rolling, Setting Aside & Farkling: After every throw, set aside at least one scoring die or combo. The player may then bank the running turn total or roll the remaining un-scored dice. If a throw yields zero scoring combinations, the player has 'Farkled'—all unbanked points earned that turn are forfeited, and play passes clockwise.
  4. Hot Dice Trigger: If a player successfully scores with all 6 dice across consecutive throws, they achieve 'Hot Dice' and may immediately reroll all 6 dice, adding to their active turn points without resetting.
  5. Endgame Trigger: Once a player crosses 10,000 points, announce the Final Lap. Every other player gets exactly one final roll to surpass the leading score. The highest total wins the match.
  6. Pig Dice Intermission / Showdown: For rapid-fire head-to-head tiebreakers or side brackets, switch to the Pig tracker. Players alternate rolling one die to bank points toward 100, stopping whenever they dare before rolling a 1 wipes their active turn.

Voting, Accusations & Award Superlatives

Conclude the evening with an awards ceremony to celebrate both lucky heroes and glorious collapses. Present printable accolade badges or ribbons for:

  • The High Roller Crown: Champion with the highest individual single-game tally.
  • The Ice-Cold Banker: Awarded to the player who never suffered a Farkle throughout the night.
  • The Heartbreak Bust Award: Bestowed upon the tragic soul who lost the largest single unbanked roll (1,500+ points).
  • The Greed Machine: Player who rolled Hot Dice three times in a single turn.

Host Pro-Tips & Common Mistakes

  • Enforce the Combo Rule: Remind players that scoring dice from separate throws within the same turn cannot be merged into combinations. For example, rolling one 5 (50 pts) on roll one and two 5s (100 pts) on roll two scores 150 points total, NOT a three-of-a-kind (500 pts).
  • Designate a Dedicated Scribe: Designate one player per table as the official Scorekeeper to ensure running arithmetic stays accurate and disputes are settled swiftly.
  • Use Felt Trays or Coasters: Dice rolling on bare wooden tables can become deafening across a party room. Small felt trays, desk mats, or cork trivets keep the noise level pleasant for conversation.
  • Speed Variant for Big Groups: If games are running long, reduce the winning threshold to 5,000 points or lower the opening qualifying threshold to 350 points.
