Print & Prep Guide
Pro tips for printing crisp game materials and scorecards from any device.
Recommended Paper Stock
Standard 20 lb copy paper works fine for single-use scorecards, but 65 lb – 110 lb white cardstock gives a professional game-store feel.
Printer Scaling & Settings
Set your printer scaling to '100%' or 'Fit to Printable Area'. Our PDFs use standard 0.5-inch safety margins for home and office printers.
Clean Cutting & Trimming
For card decks and prompts, a simple sliding paper trimmer gives razor-sharp edges in seconds. Standard household scissors work great too.
Dry-Erase & Reusable Prep
Slip sheets into clear sheet protectors or run them through a thermal laminator to use dry-erase markers party after party.
- Standard Letter paper (8.5 × 11 in) or 65 lb cardstock
- Home, office, or local print shop printer (Color or B&W)
- Scissors or rotary paper trimmer for card cutouts
- Pencils, pens, or dry-erase markers for game guests

What Is the Tiered Charades & Pictionary Kit?
The Tiered Charades & Pictionary Deck is an all-in-one party game kit designed to eliminate the awkwardness of mismatched party prompts. Traditional party decks often force eight-year-olds to act out 1950s film noir or push adults through dry, boring vocabulary words. This kit offers 96 curated prompt cards split across 4 distinct levels: Family & Kids, Pop Culture, Movie Franchises, and After-Dark Adult Humor.
Player Count: 4 to 20+ players (2 equal teams).
Recommended Age: Tiers 1-3 are suitable for ages 7+, while Tier 4 is strictly 18+.
Runtime: 45 to 75 minutes of energetic, high-volume gameplay.
Printing & Materials Guide
Follow these instructions for durable, professional-quality party cards:
- Cardstock: Print onto heavyweight 80lb to 110lb white cardstock. Standard copy paper is translucent, allowing players to see prompts through the reverse side.
- Trimming: Use a craft knife and metal ruler or a guillotine paper trimmer along the dashed cut-lines for clean, squared cards.
- Drawing Supplies: For the Pictionary mode, provide 2 large dry-erase whiteboards with fresh markers and erasers, or 2 large easel-style newsprint pads with thick chisel-tip markers.
- Timer: Keep a digital kitchen timer or smartphone stopwatch ready at the host station set to precisely 60 seconds.
Host Opening Script
💡 Host Takeaway & Quick Tip"Welcome everyone to tonight's showdown! Tonight, we test two distinct human talents: whether you can make yourself understood using only flailing limbs in Charades, or whether your stick-figure drawings in Pictionary look like anything recognizable. We have four tiers in the deck ranging from family classics to late-night chaos. Team Red and Team Blue are going head-to-head. Sixty seconds on the clock, absolutely no talking for actors, and no letters or numbers for artists. Pick your champions, grab your marker, and let the games begin!"
Step-by-Step Gameplay & Round Guide
- Team Setup: Split guests into two balanced teams. Have each team sit on opposite sides of the room facing the main acting floor and drawing easel.
- Deck Selection: The host decides which deck tiers to use. For mixed-age family nights, combine Tiers 1, 2, and 3. For late-night gatherings, run Tiers 2, 3, and 4.
- Draw & Mode Selection: On a team's turn, one player draws the top card from the deck. They have 5 seconds to inspect the card and announce their mode: "Charades!" or "Pictionary!".
- Timer Starts: The host starts the 60-second timer. If playing Charades, the actor must stay completely silent. If playing Pictionary, the drawer must not speak, write letters, or use hand gestures.
- Team Guessing: Teammates shout guesses freely. The player can nod or point to indicate warmth or correct syllable guesses.
- Scoring & Steals: If guessed correctly before time expires, the team scores 1 point. If time expires, the opposing team gets one unified conference guess for an opportunistic steal.
- Alternate Turns: Teams alternate turns, rotating actors/drawers each round so every guest participates.
Voting, Accusations & Award Superlatives
At the end of four rounds, tally the scorecard on the Host Scoreboard sheet. Before crowning the winning team, host a quick democratic vote to award the evening's superlative certificates:
- The Picasso of Shame: Awarded to the player whose drawing was so baffling nobody guessed it.
- The Meryl Streep Trophy: Awarded to the actor whose dramatic commitment to a simple charade moved the room to tears of laughter.
- The Human Radar: Awarded to the teammate who guessed a prompt from a single squiggly line or eyebrow twitch.
Host Pro-Tips & Common Mistakes
- Enforce the Silence Rule: Actors will instinctively whisper or mouth words when flustered. Give one friendly warning; subsequent vocalizations forfeit the turn.
- No Lettering in Pictionary: Players frequently draw arrows pointing to letters or sneak in currency symbols. Explicitly remind artists: stick figures, objects, and arrows only.
- Warm Up Shy Guests First: Start timid players in Tier 1 or Tier 2 as drawers rather than actors to build their confidence before moving to solo physical Charades.
